V Air flight ZV252 return to Taoyuan due to cabin smoke caused by power bank

V Air flight ZV252 (Airbus A321;B-22610) took off from Taoyuan International Airport on 6 May 2016 1426z (2226hours local time), Taiwan en-route to Haneda, Japan made an air turn back shortly after take off.

It was reported that the smoke in cabin was the result from the burning out of a non-genuine power bank and the crews requested to return to Taoyuan. Taiwan authority is currently in the process of investigation, therefore the 'brand', capacity and how did the burn out occurs is not available yet.

The aircraft landed at Taoyuan International Airport at 1521z (2321hours local time). No injury were reported.
